Our Outage Alerts provide timely notifications, estimated restoration times, and updates that are delivered straight to your phone or inbox.

Signing up is quick, simple, and hassle-free. You can opt in or out anytime.

What types of notifications will I receive?

Whether you prefer a text or email notification, you’ll receive timely information from Burlington Hydro regarding:

  • Active outages in your area
  • Estimated times of restoration
  • Confirmation of power restoration

How do I sign up for notifications?

Are you a residential or small business Burlington Hydro customer? If so, you must have a registered MyBurlingtonHydro profile to enroll in outage notifications.

  1. Register or log into your online account through our customer portal, MyBurlingtonHydro
  2. Navigate to the Account Notifications tab on the left
  3. Within the Account Notifications section, toggle “ON” for outage notifications (Email and/or SMS)
  4. Ensure your notification email and cell phone number are up-to date by clicking “Edit” within the Account Profile section
  5. Click “Save” and you’re done!

Once you sign up, you’ll receive outage notifications by text and/or email whenever there’s an outage at your address.

Ensure your contact details are up to date

Sign in to MyBurlingtonHydro and select Account Details from the left-hand menu. Under Phone and/or Email, select Edit to make any changes, then select Save before closing the window.

Your notification email address and mobile phone number must be current to receive Outage Alerts.

Register or log into your online account through our customer portal, MyBurlingtonHydro. Navigate to the Account Notifications tab on the left. Within the Account Notifications section, toggle “ON” for outage notifications under the Email Address column. Ensure your email is up-to-date by clicking “Edit” within the Account Profile section. Click “Save” and you’re done!

Once you sign up, you’ll receive outage notifications by text and/or email whenever there’s an outage at your address.

Whether you prefer an SMS/text or email notification, you’ll receive timely information from Burlington Hydro regarding active outages in your area.

At this time, each account can be set up with one email address and one mobile number to receive outage notifications. This ensures timely and accurate notifications are delivered directly to you.

If you move, you will no longer receive outage notifications. If you move within Burlington Hydro’s territory, you will have to opt in for outage notifications for your new address.

Customers can manage their preferences anytime, anywhere. To opt in (or out), log into the MyBurlingtonHydro portal (through the Account Notifications section).

If you have two or more accounts that are experiencing an outage at the same time, you will receive a separate message for each account address.

At this time, outage alertss are not available for large commercial customers. We are continuing to evaluate future opportunities to expand the service and will share updates as they become available.

To use text/SMS outage alerts, you must have an active MyBurlingtonHydro profile.

  • Existing MyBurlingtonHydro users: Ensure your preferences are updated to include SMS/text notifications under Outage Notifications.
  • New users: If you don’t have a MyBurlingtonHydro account, visit myaccount.burlingtonhydro.com to create one.
  1. Ensure your cell phone number and notification email address are up to date in MyBurlingtonHydro.
  2. In your online account through our customer portal, MyBurlingtonHydro, navigate to the Account Details tab on the left.
  3. Within the Account Profile section, click “Edit” under the Phone and/or Email section and update your contact details accordingly.
  4. Click “Save” before closing the pop-up window.
