Change-over to Winter Time-of-Use Hours Begins November 1st

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is reminding households and small businesses that the winter time-of-use (TOU) hours for the Regulated Price Plan (RPP) begin on November 1, 2018. Although TOU prices remain unchanged, winter TOU hours have changed for on-peak, mid-peak, and off-peak periods.

This change affects residential and small business customers under the Regulated Price Plan (RPP) who buy their electricity from Burlington Hydro.

New Winter Season Prices and Hours: November 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019

  • Off-Peak: weekdays from 7 pm to 7 am, and all day weekends and holidays - 6.5 ¢/kWh
  • Mid-Peak: weekdays 11 am to 5 pm - 9.4 ¢/kWh
  • On-Peak: weekdays 7 am to 11 am, and 5 pm to 7 pm - 13.2 ¢/kWh

The Global Adjustment (GA) credit set by the OEB on May 1, 2018 is also not changing on November 1, 2018. That credit applies to certain eligible customers, including those that are eligible for the RPP but have chosen a contract with an energy retailer or market-based pricing.
