Canada Post Labour Disruption and Payment of Your Electricity Bill

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers have given strike notice to Canada Post. Rotating strikes began Monday, October 22nd and are expected to continue if agreements aren't reached with the Urban Postal Operations and Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers bargaining units.

Here are some important things you’ll need to know during the labour and rotating mail delivery disruption:

  1. Customers are responsible for paying their bill by the due date, even under these circumstances.
  2. DO NOT mail your Burlington Hydro bill payment if a strike is imminent or occurring.
  3. To avoid inconvenience, consider the benefits of signing up for our free e-billing service – ViewMyBill -and receive your bill directly via email.

By registering on as a ViewMyBill user, you will receive an e-mail notification whenever a new bill has been created. Once you receive this bill you can go on-line and view, print or save the new bill. By having all of your bills on-line, it’s now easy to view your past bills, payments, and examine your electricity consumption from bill to bill, even year-over-year.
