Possible Canada Post Labour Disruption and Payment of Your Electricity Bill

Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers are currently negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement. There have been reports that a strike and/or lock out could occur in late September.

Here are some important things you’ll need to know should a labour disruption occur and mail delivery is disrupted:

  1. Customers are responsible for paying their bill by the due date, even under these circumstances.
  2. DO NOT mail your Burlington Hydro bill payment if a strike is imminent or occurring. Other payment options are available to you.*
  3. To avoid inconvenience, consider the benefits of signing up for our free e-billing service – ViewMyBill -and receive your bill directly to your email inbox. **

Customers are encouraged to consider the benefits of signing up for our free e-billing service - ViewMyBill. By registering on as a ViewMyBill user, you will receive an e-mail notification whenever a new bill has been created. Once you receive this bill you can go on-line and view, print or save the new bill. By having all of your bills on-line, it’s now easy to view your past bills, payments, and examine your electricity consumption from bill to bill, even year-over-year. It’s easy to register as a ViewMyBill user.
