Burlington Hydro Receives Award for Save on Energy Small Business Lighting Campaign                            

Best Creative by a Medium-Sized Local Distribution Company (LDC)

Burlington Hydro Inc. (BHI) is pleased to announce that it has received an award for Best Creative by a Medium-Sized LDC for its Small Business Lighting Campaign.  The Powerful Ideas Marketing Awards are presented by the Save on Energy Marketing and Sales Task Day Committee, in partnership with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).

Presented at the Powerful Ideas event at the International Centre in Mississauga on June 5, 2018, Burlington Hydro was recognized for its Save on Energy Small Business Lighting Campaign marketing creative.  The campaign was designed to re-introduce a new format for the small business lighting incentive program, targeting Burlington’s downtown businesses during the holiday season.

Burlington Hydro’s conservation team reached out to 168 small businesses, visiting 99 of those companies and completing 15 assessments. A targeted display was set up in the window of City Hall, facing onto the busy Brant Street corridor of downtown Burlington. In addition, a Conservation Holiday Tree was sponsored and decorated in a Save on Energy festive style in the foyer of Burlington’s Performing Arts Centre. The tree was later raffled off to a lucky winner .

The Save on Energy Small Business Lighting Program offers a simple solution for energy efficient lighting. It consists of: a free onsite lighting assessment of the business facility; up to $2,000 in incentives for eligible energy lighting upgrades; and, a turnkey lighting installation which includes  searching for a qualified contractor, obtaining quotes, submitting incentive applications, project managing the retrofit and clean-up.
