Lights Out for Earth Hour 2018

Saturday, March 24 – 8:30 to 9:30 pm

“Starting as a symbolic lights out event in Sydney in 2007, WWF’s Earth Hour has grown to become the world's largest grassroots movement for the environment, inspiring individuals, communities, businesses and organizations in more than 180 countries and territories to take tangible climate action for over a decade. “

Accelerating climate change and staggering biodiversity loss have emerged as prominent themes for Earth Hour 2018. By leveraging the momentum and energy of the Earth Hour movement to connect people to Earth, this year’s event brings focus to habitat loss, pollution, unsustainable harvest, invasive species and climate change.

Burlington Hydro will turn off lights at its head office at 1340 Brant Street on March 24th between 8:30 and 9:30 pm in support of Earth Hour, recognizing the broader symbolism that energy conservation plays in helping to fight climate change.
