Time-of-Use Price Periods Change November 1st

Beginning November 1, 2017, price periods for Regulated Price Plan (RPP) consumers, who buy their electricity directly from Burlington Hydro and who are paying Time-of-Use (TOU) rates, will be:

  • On-peak usage - from 7 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 7 pm weekdays (13.2 cents unchanged);
  • Mid-peak usage - from 11 am to 5 pm weekdays (9.5 cents unchanged); and,
  • Off-peak usage - from 7 pm to 7 am weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays (6.5 cents unchanged)

These reflect winter season price periods (November 1, 2017 to May 1, 2018) and appear on the ‘Electricity’ line of residential and small business consumer bills.

On July 1, 2017, revised pricing for on-, mid-, and off-peak pricing came into effect under Fair Hydro Plan legislation, further reducing the cost of electricity. Those electricity prices that came into play on July 1st remain unchanged through to May 1, 2018.
