New Electricity Prices:
Starting May 1, 2012, prices for Regulated Price Plan (RPP) consumers, who buy their electricity directly from Burlington Hydro and who are paying Time-of-Use (TOU) rates, will be 11.7 cents per kilowatt hour for on-peak usage (from 11 am to 5 pm weekdays); 10.0 cents per kilowatt hour for mid-peak usage (from 7 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 7 pm weekdays); and, 6.5 cents per kilowatt hour for off-peak usage (from 7 pm to 7 am weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays). These rates reflect summer season prices (May 1 to October 31) and appear on the ‘Electricity’ line of residential and small business consumer bills.
For those RPP consumers who have not yet transitioned to TOU prices, but are paying tiered prices, the change for usage up to the tier threshold (Tier 1 prices) will be 7.5 cents per kilowatt hour and for usage above the tier threshold (Tier 2 prices) will be 8.8 cents per kilowatt hour. On May 1, the threshold below which the lower Tier 1 price applies will change from 1,000 kWh (winter season) to 600 kWh (summer season) per month for residential consumers.
For non-residential consumers, the threshold stays at 750 kWh throughout the year.

New Burlington Hydro Distribution Rates:
As of May 1, 2012 and for the second year running, Burlington Hydro has not raised its distribution rates. In fact, residential customers will see a 1.7% decrease in their distribution rate, while general service customers who use less 50 kilowatts of power will see a 3.2% decrease.* Distribution Rates appear on the ‘delivery’ line of a customer’s electricity bill.
