Be a neighborhood power star with peaksaver™!
Joining the peaksaver program means you can help reduce the demand for electricity in your community. And you’ll feel great knowing you’re doing something good for the environment.
It's no sweat to participate. On the hottest days of the summer, Burlington Hydro will send a signal that triggers a slight increase in the temperature setting of your peaksaver thermostat. The 2 degree increase will happen gradually over 4 hours, and it's likely you won't notice a difference in the temperature of your home. When done on a large scale, this action helps to reduce the strain on the electricity system.
The signal is sent infrequently and only on weekdays and you can opt out twice a year. We are confident that this won't compromise your control or the comfort of your home.
To be eligible you must be a homeowner of a single-family home with a central cooling system. We’ll do all the work at no expense to you. In fact, you’ll even receive $25 from the Ontario Power Authority just for signing up.
Now, program your thermostat from anywhere in the world. Conservation
becomes easy with the peaksaver® Online Control Centre. Once you've
enrolled with the forms below, you can login using the link on the left
hand menu.
