Energy Conservation Week: May 25 - 31

Here are some tips to do this week to show your support for Energy Conservation Week!

Monday, May 25

Electricity Impact Day

Tip of the Day: Facilities like schools, office buildings and libraries use a lot of electricity. They also have a high potential to save a significant amount of electricity! Take a look around your office or classroom today and see if there are any lights that can be shut off or unused equipment that can be unplugged.

Tieless Tuesday

Tip of the Day: Keep it cool today! Burlington Hydro and the City of Burlington will be raising the temperature in their office buildings today, giving the air conditioner a break and conserving some energy! Dress for the warm weather and leave your tie or suit jacket at home.

Save the Watt Wednesday

Join us today for a Lunch 'n Learn session at City Hall from 12:00 to 1:00, or from 1:00 - 2:00

Tip of the Day: Try cooking dinner in a toaster oven, microwave or on a barbeque, or have a totally fresh meal that doesn't need to be cooked at all! This will save you a few watts and avoid your house heating up from cooking.

Count Every Kilowatt Day

Tip of the Day: Check out www.energyconservationweek.ca and see how much electricity Ontario is using right now! Then do your best to reduce your electricity consumption by turning off lights, raising the temperature in your home or office, and unplugging electronics that are using standby electricity even when turned off.
