Energy Conservation Week: All Wrapped Up

Burlington Hydro participated in the first annual Energy Conservation Week. Created by the Ontario Power Authority to create awareness, Burlington Hydro together with the City of Burlington was able to extend the message of conservation to Burlington residents. Look forward to next year’s Energy Conservation Week events!

Burlington Business Summit 2008

The Burlington Hydro Conservation Team was a sponsor for the Burlington Economic Development Corporation’s Burlington Business Summit 2008. Information on conservation programs was offered at the event, as well as the opportunity to speak to conservation staff.

Burlington Hydro Contributes to the Environment and Operating Efficiency of Conservation Halton

Burlington Hydro has partnered with the four other Local Distribution Companies serving Halton Region to ensure that Conservation Halton is well equipped to reduce smog emissions during Provincial Smog Days and to reduce energy consumption when Ontario’s electrical system is encountering high prices or reliability issues. Burlington Hydro Contributes to the Operating Efficiency of Halton Regional Police Service

Burlington Hydro has partnered with Halton Regional Police Service to ensure that the newly constructed District No 3 Station incorporated the most electrical energy efficient lighting system available. For more information, Click here.

Festival of Lights

In continuing with our commitment to our customers and the community, Burlington Hydro has been a proud participant in the City of Burlington’s Festival of lights. Each year, we provide volunteers to help with the set up and removal of the displays.
United Way

Wherever possible, Burlington Hydro is committed to helping those who are in need. Burlington Hydro has been an active supporter of the United Way since 1993 and for the 2nd year in a row, we were a “Silver Award Winner” in the local United Way Campaign.
School Safety Program

It is important to Burlington Hydro that we promote electrical safety education, and contribute toward a better understanding of electricity, its uses, benefits, and dangers. We do this through our School safety program where we assist youngsters develop an early appreciation and respect of electricity.
Halton Partners for Clean Air

Burlington Hydro along with other Halton business partners is committed to improving the air quality of its community. We have accomplished this by implementing procedures such as reducing our fleet idling practice and by refueling our vehicles outside of the peak smog hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Burlington Blood Donor Clinic

Employees from Burlington Hydro attend the Burlington Blood Donor clinic in small groups, rolling up their sleeves to help ensure there is enough blood to meet hospital needs.
